ROAD TRIP IN THE ITALIAN

DOLOMITES.

Get ready for a trip that will take you past lush green valleys and towering peaks, all whilst testing your driving skills on some of the most challenging and exhilarating mountain roads in the world.

On leaving the Eurotunnel you cross northern France. The technical driving begins with the Route des Cretes, a series of high-altitude roads that wind along the peaks of the beautiful Vosges Mountains.   Up next experience the dramatic scenery of the  Black Forest with its endlessly curvy roads and lush scenery leading to a section of Autobahn and an opportunity to stretch the cars legs.  Into Austria and the Ötztal Valley to conquer two giants of the region. The relatively easy climb of the Hanntehjoch and the more challenging hairpins and steep gradients of Timmelsjoch, culminating in breathtaking summit views.

After an exhilarating drive you'll arrive at the magnificent Italian Dolomites.  First up is the Sella Pass, not just a road but an experience. The road snakes upwards, hugging the mountainside like a ribbon, each bend revealing a new stunning vista. Then brace yourself for hairpin turns and extraordinary scenery as you take on the regions many outstanding high mountain passes.

Your return leg now begins, with an option to take a more leisurely day on the shores of Lake Garda before  crossing the border into Switzerland.  A perfect opportunity to detour back to drive the famous Stelvio Pass.  This scenic final leg takes you over classic Swiss mountain passes, including The Fluela and Wolfgang Passes, before heading home.

How much will my trip cost?

We offer a personlised road trip experince, this means the costs will vary depending on the time of year you go and the type of accommdation chosen.  The guide price shown is based on a holiday for 2 persons sharing a room,  driving a single car, staying in 3/4 star accomodation and travelling in early season (May/June).

Your trip may be different and this will affect the total cost of the holiday.  To help you get an idea here is how we calculate the cost:

Our Fee:

For us to design and mange this trip our fee is £399 plus 10% per additonal car.  For groups of more than 5 cars the fee's quoted per trip.

Eurotunnel costs:

This is a fixed cost per car and prices vary greatly depending on the time and day travelling.

Accomodation costs:

This is usually the largest cost of the trip.  Most customers choose either 3/4 or 4/5 start hotels, but anything is possible - even AirBnb, camping or staying with a friend.  It is really up to you.

Additional costs (not included in the advertised guide price):

If you opt to hire one of our preconfigured Sat Nav's there is a small additional charge and a deposit.

Toll roads, the costs depend on your routes but will be included in the budget plan.

Fuel, an estimate will be provided based on your vehicle, the route and local fuel costs.

Food is not covered in the costs unless the accommodation includes it.

Whatever your budget we'll make it work and provide a full costed summary as part of the trip management process.
